About

Pirogue Advisory is owned and led by Jeanne and Spencer Hamilton, who have been solving business problems side by side for as long as they have known each other. They met while working on the same project from two different perspectives. Spencer managed the data and technical work, while Jeanne led the people and process side.

Over time, they evolved from project partners to marriage partners, and now business partners. Pirogue Advisory is simply a more deliberate version of the work they’ve been doing together since the day they met.

“Pirogue”

Most people hear the word pirogue (pee-row) and think of a small boat rooted in Louisiana tradition. While that’s true, the reason we chose the name goes much deeper.

At first glance, a pirogue appears to be little more than a narrow wooden boat that moves through the water with a push pole. Neither the boat nor the pole has much value on its own. A pirogue only works when three essential elements come together: the boat, the push pole, and the navigator. The boat provides structure and stability. The pole provides leverage and movement. The navigator provides direction and judgment. Remove any one of the three, and meaningful progress stops. We believe businesses operate the same way.

The people, processes, and technology that move a business forward are deeply connected. Each plays a different role, and sustainable growth happens when all three work together. At Pirogue Advisory, we help businesses align their people, processes, and technology to drive better business outcomes. At the close of each engagement, leaders and teams understand their responsibilities, work moves across the business with purpose, and decisions are supported by accurate information.

The pirogue reminds us that meaningful progress does not come from unnecessary complexity. It comes from structure, leverage, and direction working together. This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do.
